Woodland - Helen Ivory

Snap the gate,

step into woodland

breathe deep

talk to textured trees -

where twigs and sticks

and lofty leaves

shiver in sunlight,

and sharp scents

of growth and earth

speak of spring.

“I believe that being in nature, even just for five minutes, benefits our mental health. This poem tries to capture that brief moment of bliss where you embrace the natural world and forget your worries.”
